It is our goal to provide Pre-K students with a challenging learning environment that will encourage them to grow socially and emotionally, as well as academically. This year, you can expect that your child will learn learn letters, along with their sounds, and begin to manipulate those sounds through phonological awareness. Students will learn numbers, counting, and simple addition and subtraction. They will also learn colors, shapes, and simple patterns. The overall goals of children's development in science are to deepen their conceptual understandings of the world around them, to increase their comprehension of how science is practiced and to develop their abilities to conduct scientific investigations. Children’s development in social studies will include learning about their sense of self, basic understanding of people and how they live, and the impact of people in the community.
