Now in its thirteenth year, Inception to Projection is a six-week hands-on filmmaking program that trains participants to write, direct, produce, and edit their own original short film. At the conclusion of the program, the students publicly screen their film at the highly anticipated film festival Arkansas Shorts hosted by Low Key Arts. To keep up with the ever increasing demand for our classes, we continually add specialty courses to our curriculum including feature screenwriting, cinematography, documentary filmmaking and directing.
With the recent expansion of our program, I2P is on track to facilitate the production of roughly 100 short films a year right here in downtown Hot Springs while launching careers for many emerging filmmakers within the region!
I2P has a proven track record of creating a path for aspiring filmmakers to make a professional short film while preparing them for a career in the film industry. As the only program of its kind in the state, we have seen alumni accepted into prestigious undergraduate and graduate film schools while others find employment in the film industry as they continue to work on professional sets both in and outside of Arkansas.
Beginning August 1, 2022, Inception to Projection moved from being offered once a year, to having a permanent training facility providing year-round classes and equipment resources for regional creators. Opening a year-round facility comes with increased expenses and it’s vital that we continue to keep our program cost effective while continuing to provide scholarships to economically disadvantaged students.
