Private lessons are a great way to support your student’s efforts in band and are strongly encouraged! Private lessons help foster individual achievement, boost self-esteem, and give students an additional creative outlet. Lessons are great for students who feel like they need extra help. Lessons can also help students who are doing well to truly soar, and succeed in things like Solo & Ensemble and auditions for outside groups and honors bands. And lessons are especially great if we are not able to be in school in person. It is recommended that if at all possible, students take advantage of the opportunity for private lessons.
On this page we've listed some recommended private lesson teachers. Most teach out of their homes, but some can arrange to teach lessons at LMS, or even over Google Meet, Zoom, or other digital platforms. Local school music stores also have musicians who teach privately at the store. Another local resource is the Franciscan Center (897-7842). And, sometimes a talented Lowell High School band student can provide lessons to our middle schoolers. Need more info? Call Ms. Bredwell!
