This Privacy Policy explains how LOWBYTE STUDIO ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the 3D Scanner iOS application (the "App"). The App uses Apple’s TrueDepth camera and related camera technologies to let you create three-dimensional scans and models.
The App does not use TrueDepth data for Face ID, authentication, identity recognition, identification, profiling, advertising, marketing, or data mining.
When you start a scan and grant camera permission, the App may access camera images, depth information, and facial-mapping or geometric data made available through Apple APIs. If a person’s face is within the camera’s field of view, this information may represent facial geometry. We refer to this information collectively as "TrueDepth Data."
TrueDepth Data is used solely to measure surface depth, align scan frames, generate a point cloud, mesh, texture, preview, or other 3D representation, and provide the scanning features you request. It is not used to determine who you are or to infer sensitive characteristics.
· TrueDepth Data is processed on your device while a scan is in progress.
· Raw TrueDepth frames and transient facial-mapping data are not transmitted to us and are discarded when processing is complete or the scan session ends.
· Only the scan or 3D model that you choose to save is retained in the App’s local storage. A saved model may reflect the shape of a face or other scanned subject if that was what you scanned.
· We do not receive, store, sell, rent, or share TrueDepth Data, and no advertising or analytics provider receives it.
Saved scans, models, textures, images, filenames, and related project information are stored locally on your device unless you deliberately export or share them. You control the subjects you scan and the files you keep.
If you use an Apple feature such as iCloud Backup, device migration, Files, AirDrop, or a share sheet, Apple or the destination service may process a copy under its own privacy policy. We do not control a third-party service that you independently choose for export or storage.
Under the assumptions used for this draft, we do not collect personal information, account information, precise location, contacts, payment details, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity through the App. Apple may independently provide us with aggregated App Store sales information or diagnostic information that you have chosen to share with developers through your Apple device settings. Before scanning another person, you are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable law and for respecting that person’s privacy and other rights.
We do not sell personal information or TrueDepth Data. We do not share TrueDepth Data with advertisers, data brokers, analytics companies, artificial-intelligence services, or other third parties. We may disclose information only if you direct the disclosure through an export or sharing action, or if disclosure is legally required and the information is actually in our possession. Raw TrueDepth Data is retained only temporarily during on-device processing and is discarded after processing or when the scan session ends. Saved scans remain on your device until you delete them in the App or delete the App. Copies you exported must be deleted from each destination separately.
