Science Department March Newsletter

In Science for March students investigate how ocean currents behave and what effect they have on the climate of different locations around the world, specifically the air temperature of various locations. Students will learn that energy flow from the sun is what drives this story.

We will also begin collecting empty 2-liter bottles for live school points for upcoming bottle rockets

Band March Newsletter

Hello wonderful band parents,

We are having a great time working on playing major scales to prepare for middle school band next year.   There are 12 major scales, however, our goal is 7. As we determine who will be in MS Symphonic or Concert band, we will use these scales as a qualifier.  While work on scales, we will be having a contest on which class knows the most major scales to encourage practice. We will do pass off tests from each student. They will individually play each scale and if they pass they will earn 1 point to qualify for a pizza party from Mr. Walls.   Any students who pass their scale test by memorization will receive a bonus point.  Please encourage them to continue practicing and use their outside resources to learn these scales.

Choir March Newsletter

Students will soon have the opportunity to audition for the TMS choirs!  There are two choirs, the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir.  Students will audition during class with Mrs. Tiner.  Please talk with your student about what electives they are interested in for next year.  I would love to have them in choir as middle schooler, where we have more opportunities to travel, compete, and grow as musicians and humans!

Our last concert of the year will be “The Grand Ol’ Musical” and will take place  on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 6:30 pm at Pannell Auditorium.  We will have a dress rehearsal the day before, time TBD.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tiner.

Physical Education March Newsletter

Keyboarding March Newsletter

Our students are currently working hard to improve their keyboarding skills in the Keyboarding Class this March. They are learning the keyboard layout, familiarizing themselves with the positioning of each key, and practicing typing exercises to build their speed and accuracy. As we begin the new month, we will shift our focus toward achieving complete mastery of the keyboard keys. We will provide them with more challenging exercises, personalized feedback, and one-on-one guidance to ensure that they attain the highest level of proficiency in keyboarding.

Careers and Technology March Newsletter

Students are learning about different vocational careers and exploring pathways to set them up for future success in whatever occupation they choose. Students work with a partner learning about a curriculum related to a particular career cluster and complete hands-on activities related to the field.
