Love St Thomas CIC is a volunteer-led community association and Community Interest Company for people who live in St Thomas and the neighbourhoods west of the River Exe in Exeter. We exist to bring neighbours together, support grassroots ideas, and help local projects thrive for public benefit — not private profit.
Support local groups and good ideas
We offer governance support and practical guidance to community groups and projects, helping them operate effectively, build capacity, and become more self-reliant.
Help with community fundraising and finances
Some local groups don’t want — or aren’t able — to run their own bank account. Where helpful, we can hold money on their behalf so they can focus on delivering activities, with funds handled securely and transparently, and with access to certain grants that require a non-private account.
St Thomas Repair Café
We run a local Repair Café where people can bring items to be fixed, learn practical skills, and enjoy a cuppa while they’re here. Repairs (and refreshments) are by donation, and there are roles for everyone — whether you repair, welcome people, help with admin, or serve refreshments.
West of the River magazine
We publish a regular print magazine, distributed free to local households — helping people stay informed about local events and projects without relying on social media or the internet, and helping reduce social isolation.
Events and community moments
We organise events (including our summer festival) that create shared experiences — bringing people together to socialise, enjoy entertainment, and discover what’s happening locally.
Creative projects for young people
We organise and support creative projects that engage and empower local youth — helping build confidence, develop skills, and connect with positive role models.
If Love St Thomas CIC generates any surplus, it is reinvested into developing and expanding the services and activities we offer for the community.
