Gear Suggested for Course

We will provide you with binoculars and a magnifying loupe that you can use during this course.  If you prefer hardcopy field guides, we have these to loan as well.

In addition you will likely want to bring:

1. Rain gear

2. Bug spray

3. Food and ample water.

4. Backpack or fanny pack

5. Hat

6. Sunglasses, reading glasses.

7. Cell phone with Merlin Bird ID and Seek apps loaded.  Make sure to download the database for our area that goes with each app.

8. Shoes or boots that can get muddy.  Consider a spare pair of clean and dry shoes to keep in the car.

9. For the nighttime workshop at Jean Lafitte bring a camping headlamp or a flashlight with a red filter preserve our night vision, and a folding chair.
