A Vision for Better Play

Right now, the age of our floor is showing.  Built when the school opened in 1997, this floor has had 25 years of PE classes, games, teams, play and footwork - and it is clearly in need of a face-lift.

It is no surprise the lines are worn because this well-loved floor is used approximately 350 days of the year!

EVERY SCHOOL DAY, our students use the gym for PE.

EVERY SCHOOL DAY, our gym is used for after-school sports.

The gym is also rented to Men’s Basketball, youth G-ball (girls rec basketball),  AAU (competitive basketball) and Club Volleyball (most evenings and weekends). During the summer, a Futsal program run by Live Oak Community Resources has often used the gym. In fact, the gym serves 2,000 youth from around Santa Cruz County every year!

25 Years

Thousands of feet have played on Shoreline's gym floor and it has served us well.  But the age is evident - and it is time to renew our 90s floor for a safer surface.

      The Future is Bright

We are going to renew the floor and create an inviting surface that will last for many years for our students and our community athletes to enjoy.
