About Me

My path to teaching has been a bit of a windy road but I couldn't be happier to have landed where I am today! After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Physiological Science, I was asked to stay on in one of my professor's research labs and spent three years studying aging and diseased muscle tissue. The lab's primary focus was Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy but also worked with NASA on muscular atrophy from prolonged exposure to low-gravity environments. This was an incredible opportunity but as more training and supervision of undergraduate students become part of my job, my passion for teaching really began to develop. I then went back to school to earn my teaching credential from Long Beach State and began teaching.

I am married to an aerospace engineer (or rocket scientist as he jokingly refers to himself) and we are raising our own little two year old scientist.

I am eager to get to know everyone and beginning our scientific journey together!
