what are we learning in first grade?

We will cover all the First Grade Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Please refer to the monthly newsletter sent via Parent Square to see what we are learning in each subject that month.

Expectations & Procedures

Students are expected to be respectful to the school and those around them. Students should take responsibility for their actions. At the beginning of the year, we explicitly teach these expectations through the use of Juan Pablo character lessons and build on these throughout the year.

Grading policy

First grade uses a standards based grading system. We follow a 9 weeks grading schedule and Starting in the second nine weeks grading period, we will send progress reports once during each remaining term.
