Hello! I’m Mr. Fox, and I teach Computer Science, Robotics, and Engineering at Lorena High School. My family and I have lived in Lorena since 2019 with my wife, our daughter and son, two dogs and two cats. Most of my extended family is scattered across Waco, Tyler, Georgetown, and Mansfield, so we're all close by.
I graduated from Tyler John Tyler High School, where I balanced academics and activities as an IB student and Governor’s School scholar. I was also active in orchestra, jazz band, honor society, theater, soccer, and even called on as the football team’s kicker helping get the 5A/6A State Championship. At Texas Tech, I earned my bachelor’s degree (RAIDER POWER!) while interning on the university’s web team building code and content for ttu.edu and preparing media for iTunes back when the iPod was king and the iPhone was just around the corner. Later, I earned my master’s from Tarleton State.
Before teaching, I worked in several industries; oilfield engineering, industrial and medical gases, welding, and robotics. But what always stood out to me in those jobs was the part where I got to teach and help others grow. That realization brought me here to education, and I couldn’t be more at home. Outside the classroom, I’m a soccer referee for high school, college, and elite leagues in Dallas and Austin. Last year I added high school football officiating, and baseball might be next...
I enjoy going for jogs, building puzzles, movies that make you think, and learning more everyday.
Favorite Color: Blue but sometimes Green.
Favorite Food: Chicken and Rice with chopsticks or a French Dip Sub (no chopsticks in case you were wondering)
