Center School Art

Welcome to the Center School Art Room!

The art program is founded on the belief that children are inherently creative, unique, and capable. Sometimes we use process art (which emphasizes the process of creating something rather than a predetermined plan and outcome) and sometimes we use design thinking strategies (where we intentionally plan and refine our ideas). No matter the method, the journey is about creative thinking, self discovery, exploration, play, and learning to work in a respectful, collaborative environment.

Greetings!

My name is Caitlin Dembkowski (she/her/hers) and I am the Center School Art teacher.  I have been teaching studio art for 12 years.  I am continually inspired by the curiosity, creativity and intuition of children, especially when making art.

Thank you volunteers who help to display student work around school!

If you would like to volunteer in the art room please email cdembkowski@longmeadow.k12.ma.us. All school volunteers must have an up to date CORI on file with the Center School office. Stop by the office, with your license, to start that process.
