Valerie (Ross-Fritz) Brown

Valerie is an experienced educator who loves the Center School community.

Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Education in Special Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Reading. She is also Orton Gillingham certified and a certified Dyslexia Specialist through the International Dyslexia Association. Her career began as a second and third grade classroom teacher at Green Meadows School in Hampden, where she worked for ten years. She then took some time off from teaching to raise her children Jared and Vanessa. During that time, she worked for Learning Styles as a tutor and tutor coordinator. Upon returning to teaching, she taught reading at Swift River Elementary School in Belchertown for two years. Since 2013, she has been the Reading Specialist at Center School. Valerie has also been an adjunct professor at American International College where she taught several reading courses in their graduate program for about 7 years.

As an avid reader, Valerie is excited to ignite a love of learning in her students. She welcomes you to stop by the Reading Center anytime!

Valerie lives in Suffield with her husband, two children and dog, Foxy. She enjoys fitness activities, book club, craft projects, and spending time with family and friends.
