MEET THE TEACHER

Hi Everyone...My name is Jenny Serafino and this is my eleventh year teaching second grade at Center School.  I am counting down the days until school begins because I can't wait to meet so many wonderful people.    I went to college at Boston College and got my degree in Elementary Education.  I loved Boston so much I stayed there to get my Masters degree in Developmental and Educational Psychology.  I grew up in East Longmeadow, so I know all about how great Longmeadow is and I have spent many Thanksgiving mornings at your high school to watch the traditional football game.

I can't wait to learn all about the students and families coming in, so why don't I tell you a little but about myself.  I am married and my husband's name is Andrew.  We live in East Longmeadow with our family, which includes Alana (just graduated from UMASS), Drew (a senior at UVA), Sam (starting 3rd grade at Center this year) and our 5 year old twins, Ellie and Teddy, starting kindergarten this year.  I can't forget our two dogs, Buddy and Izzy.  We all love soccer.   I love to run and walk outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.  Also, I love the beach.  I could sit on the beach, read books and go swimming all summer long.  Each summer my family goes to Cape Cod and it is an awesome vacation.  I come from a very big family; I have four older brothers, and I have lots of nieces and nephews, so it's nice that we can see each other a lot.

Teaching I believe is the best job ever because I get to work with some amazing people every day and it's always something different.  Center School is the coolest school I've been in and I feel so lucky to get to go there each day.  I can't wait for us to get started and I'll see you all soon!
