About me

Welcome to Fifth grade! You can look forward to an exciting year. Throughout the school year, there will be opportunities for you to embrace your curiosity, apply your skills and celebrate your achievements. But, before we dive into all of that, I thought you might want to learn a bit about me. My teaching odyssey began a long time ago in a classroom far, far away. As the daughter of a U.S. Air Force computer specialist, I moved around a lot as a kid and settled in a new state every three years. When I was 11 years old and living in Nebraska, my fifth-grade teacher, Ms. Young, enkindled a love of learning in me. The way she helped me understand ideas and concepts made me realize that she possessed a unique superpower as a teacher. She ignited a spark in me that later became my calling. As a veteran teacher, I have taught in both alternative and traditional settings, in various grade levels, and have been fortunate enough to do what I love.  (I believe 5th grade is the best!)

Three fun facts about me:

1.) I have three kids; one adult daughter, and two teenagers!

2.) I share two pets with my family, a dog named Little Bee and a cat named Cassie.

3) In my free time, I can be found spending time with my family, reading, hiking with friends, dancing, and crafting!
