About Me:
Welcome to Mrs. Courchesne's web page!
I am looking forward to this year here at LHS. This year I will be teaching 9th grade Biology 431 & 432 in room 107. If you can't find me check my schedule which is posted on the windows outside my classroom or the link at the top of this page.
I have been a teacher in both MA and CT for the past 32 years, beginning my career at Agawam High School then switching to CT where I taught at Windsor Locks High School and Enfield High School. I also taught for a year at the Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy here in Longmeadow.
My undergraduate degree is from Springfield College where I received a B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education and I received a M.S. in Education from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME. I have teaching licenses in both MA and CT in general science, biology, chemistry and middle school science. I have taught practically everything under the sun in science (except physics 😳) throughout my three decades of experience. My favorite topic in science is genetics!
My husband is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Springfield College and I also have 2 adult children both of which are graduates of LHS. Trust me, you will hear all about them throughout the year. I love to share crazy, funny stories about my experiences that pertain to the science world we are learning about and I hope you enjoy them.
I LOVE the Big Bang Theory & Amy Farrah Fowler (played by Mayim Bialik) is my favorite character!
