Welcome to the Blueberry Hill Reading Room!
Meet Mrs. Kearney
I am so excited to begin my 30th year in elementary education. The first ten years were spent in third grade and kindergarten. As a classroom teacher, my passion has always been literacy, so it made sense to continue my coursework and became a reading specialist. Since then, I've been an interventionist, curriculum coordinator, and literacy coach. My favorite role, however, has always been to work directly with students to help them crack that code and open up the world that becoming literate provides for us. I feel fortunate to have that opportunity at Blueberry Hill School. I encourage my own children to find a career they love to do and then work really hard at it. Even after all my years in education, I still love what I do!
Meet Mrs. Frost
I am excited to start my 4th year as a reading tutor at Blueberry Hill! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, CT and my Master’s degree in Education at Cambridge College. Before coming to Blueberry Hill I worked in the Suffield Public Schools as a paraeducator for grades K-8. I also tutored students in math and reading at Huntington Learning Center in Simsbury, CT for 5 years.
I live in Suffield, CT with my husband Benjamin, our two beautiful daughters Brooke and Cara. We recently welcomed a mini goldendoodle named Harbor to our family. Harbor has brought so much joy to our family!
Some of my hobbies are interior decorating, running, skiing, hiking, boating and of course reading. I love getting lost in a book especially if it is historical fiction or a great mystery. My family and I spend our summers on Long Island enjoying the beautiful beaches and restaurants. I am thrilled to be working with your children to build their self-confidence and love for reading!
