Assessments

There will be an exiting ticket at the end of the nearpod presentation to assess the knowledge acquired about the quality of education. The summative will be the project the students will be working on together to obtain the technical devices and or resources needed to send these items to the appropriate school in need of quality education.

Description

Students will be comparing and contrasting the quality of education and resources in both the United States and their own personal home country. Students will then analyze the differences that contribute to the difference in the quality of education.

Content

I can compare and contrast the quality of education in different countries.

Language

I can analyze, verbalize and write a plan to help those in need of a more equitable education.

Technology

I can utilize the database of nearpod to educate students and research the quality of education around the world.

Procedure

Examine the quality of education in your community and the world at large. This will be done by using nearpod and then a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting education in the U.S. and countries with educational inequalities.
Analyze stories of people working to improve the quality of education.
Students will brainstorm ideas to help improve the quality of education specifically in their home countries.
We will have a culminating activity to send technology resources to a school needed educational resources.

Reflection

Implementing a nearpod with the students was a very collaborative lesson. The students were engaging in answering reflections questions and coming up with unique ideas to help this much needed improvement in the inequalities in education.
