Students gained perspective on both sides of using Native American names to name teams and the sale of merchandise for profit. Students collaborated to gather information and wrote an opinion essay stating how they felt.

I can use virtual bulletin boards to brainstorm and collaborate with peers, digital graphic organizers, digital vocabulary flashcards, and write an opinion essay in Google Docs.
The concept presented was difficult at first for students to understand. They had little schema for Native Americans today. All the videos and articles were necessary to develop what was needed in order to write the opinion essay. It was challenging but the use of Padlet and all the collaborative features that followed each assignment motivated students to participate and inspired them to further research and complete each task.
