The goal of this project was to have our graduating 6th graders reflect on their time at our school, while learning the meaning of legacy, and looking at examples of important people who have left a legacy. We felt that this was a great way for them to showcase how far they have come over the years and to remember the impact that our school has had on them. A great way to do this was by having them write out a well organized essay- a skill that they have had to build throughout their elementary journeys. We were able to review parts of a paragraph, hooks, quotes and personal interests to make our writing more individualized. After completing their essays, students explored Canva and presented their work with video, audio and other graphic elements to tell their stories in their own way.
