Storybook creator created story
I used Book Creator for this lesson. The lesson involves the student writing about his trip to America which is new to him. I taught him how to use Book Creator and it was very open ended for him to explore all features the app has to offer.
I can identify key events about my trip to the USA by thinking about a beginning, middle and end.
I can write complete sentences and use proper punctuation.
I can utilize story Book Creator to create my story.
Read the Airport Book by Lisa Brown and have a discussion. If you have a beginner student, you can use an iPad with Google Translate to have a conversation as you are reading the book.
Students will use a graphic organizer stating beginning, middle and end. Throughout the month, many teaching points have been taught including organizing their writing, adding dialogue, adding inner thinking, using proper punctuation, and writing complete sentences. Students can then type their stories in Word and/or write their story in Storybook Creator. They will be able to add writing, pictures, and voice to their story.

My student loved making these books. He was motivated to write, speak, and read. I was so proud of him. I am going to use this as a motivation for him to do for more lessons. He can definitely do this in his class with some of his other pieces of work.
