Individual reflection on the lesson
In this lesson, the students learned what it means to be healthy. Through a series of activities leading to a project, the students learned about healthy lifestyles, healthy foods and practices.
I can understand and explain the importance of good health and well-being as well as how to go about to achieve this.
I can explain the importance of leading a healthy life with my writing skills.
I can use Pixton to express what good health means to me.
We discussed the meaning of Health and Well-Being and I provided a list of key vocabulary necessary
The student made up index cards and a Quizziz
I read The Monster Health Book by Edward Miller where good practices and food groups were discussed
I presented the Nearpod presentation Your Healthy Lifestyle
The student read the ReadWorks article, “Taking Charge of Your Health”, which was also translated for her (being that she is emerging) and she answered comprehension questions
The student was then asked to make a poster of things that represented Health and Well Being based on what she had learned

This is a great lesson, but I personally think it would have been better with more than 1 student. Unfortunately, I only had one student in my stand alone class this year. It would have been more interactive and fun for them if they were doing things cooperatively.
