Assessments

Students had to complete their research and jot evidence from their reading into a collaborative Google Slide presentation. Students constructed a paragraph using the slide. Students created a collaborative newsletter on good health and well-being.

Description

The students created a newsletter to ensure that Goal 3 from the World Health Organization, Good Health and Well-Being is understood and implemented in the East Quogue Community. The newsletter addresses healthcare, exercise, food, and mindfulness.

Content

I can research a website for information in specific areas of good health and well-being.

Language

I can interpret information and write a paragraph in my own words using specific content vocabulary to create a good health and well-being school newsletter.

Technology

I can use Google Slides to collaborate with other students, conduct research on a topic, and write a paragraph in a newsletter. I can also use Nearpod to learn about a topic.

Reflection

The lesson was a multilevel grade and proficiency collaborative effort. All three ENL teachers were involved in the process of helping the students to complete their piece of the project. The culminating project was a newsletter informing the reader of a variety of areas that help to keep us in good health.
