Description
Students will read the book “One Well”, which is a CitizenKid book that discusses the interconnectedness of the water of Earth. This nonfiction read leaves students with the enduring understanding that every raindrop, lake, underground river and glacier is part of a single global well.
Content
I can explain the importance of the water cycle, create a book on Book Creator about it, and present it to my class.
Language
I can use descriptive vocabulary and content related adjectives to explain the water cycle, climate changes, and why water is important globally.
Technology
I can watch a video on BrainPOP. I can complete a lesson on Nearpod over two days. I can create/contribute to a non-fiction book using Book Creator.
Procedure
Students will read the book “One Well”, which is a CitizenKid book.
Students will watch an interactive video about the importance of the water cycle.
Students will be able to explain the water cycle.
Students will be able to understand and explain how water is the same water that the dinosaurs used.
Students will access a Nearpod lesson with questions in various formats.
Students will create/contribute to a non-fiction book using Book Creator.
Students will create a presentation to display and present their class.

The East Moriches School District chose one initiative from un.org. We chose to create 3 separate lessons from 3 unique perspectives. Grades 3-4, FLES, and grades 7-8. We modified the same core materials for each sub group.
