Assessments

Formative: Students will be assessed on vocabulary on Flocabulary, and the parts of a fairy tale (Fiona's Luck).

Summative: Students create their own Fairy Tale using the elements they've learned.

Description

Students will learn about the parts of a fairy tale, read and identify the parts of a fairy tale, then write their own fairy tale.

Content

Students will learn about fairy tales through teacher led lessons and websites.

Technology: iPads, Chromebooks, Tumblebooks, Flocabulary

Student work

Used EdPuzzle to teach students about the elements of a Fairy Tale and included notes and checks for understanding throughout the video.

Procedure

Students will follow the Flocabulary unit on Fairy tales.

Students will do an EdPuzzle on Fairy Tales. Students will read a Fairy Tale with the teacher as well as Fairy Tales on their own.

They will fill out a Graphic organizer about Fiona's Luck on Tumblebooks or their own reading.

They will create their own Fairy Tale starting with an outline and using some of their own ideas based on a vision board they made.

They will write their book using Book Creator and share with the class.

Classmates will comment.

Reflection

The students are still working on it, but they are really enjoying it. They were engaged and they liked talking about the different fairy tales on zoom. It's a great project to end the year with.
