Homework will be posted under the "Math" topic in the "Classwork" tab on our Google Classroom.
Math homework consists of a short 5-question "Quick Check" that reviews what we learned that day. It is all online, so no need to physically turn anything in.
Each assignment is assigned at 9:00am and due at midnight.
Daily Independent Reading Time (D.I.R.T.) is an important part of our second grade program this year in 2TA. As part of your homework, you will read a total of 50 minutes at home each week.
Please choose a book you will enjoy and one that is not too difficult or easy for you. You may read independently or aloud to a friend or family member.
In the “D.I.R.T.” topic on Google Classroom, there will be a spreadsheet to keep track of all the books you have read each week. Starting each Wednesday, write in the title of the book, number of pages you read, and how long you read. This will be due the following Wednesday and it will count towards you “staying on track.”
Happy reading!
Since reading is an essential part of second grade please feel free to to purchase books online form Scholastic.com
2T's Class Code is: HLNZW
Weekly FUNdations homework assignments can be found in Google Classroom under the "Fundations" topic.
**This may vary depending on the week**
Monday: Only pick one
1. Choose 10 words from this unit's word list and act like a teacher. Quiz a family member using your spelling words, but don't forget to correct their quiz in pen! Turn in the Quiz on Tuesday!
2. Have a family member quiz you on 10 of your word list words and write them down. Turn in the Quiz on Tuesday!
Tuesday: Read and tap out 10 words of your choice from this unit's word list. Write the letters that represent the sounds.
Remember: digraphs, glued sounds and vowel teams only get ONE tap.

Remember your vowels: a, e, i, o, u (sometimes y)
Thursday: 5 well written or typed sentences to help define your trick words. If there are not 5 trick words, please pick any of your other fundations words to complete 5 sentences. Underline your spelling words! Homework must be on lined paper if written.

All spelling homework must be completed on the paper that has been provided or lined paper. Please be sure all work is numbered and in pencil! Homework may vary during short weeks.
