Our club provides DJ and MC services to the school community and beyond while also preparing students for real world job placement with a grasp on the entreprenuerial aspect of the DJ/MC industry.

The skills students gain from the podcasting experience prepare them for a variety of media-oriented fields, from radio to commercial television, theater, and movies. New for the 2025-2026 School Year is an engaging mobile program exclusively for Long Branch School district elementary schools called the Groove Patrol Experience. The Green Wave Groove Patrol is the performance and education arm of the Green Wave DJ/MC Club. The Middle and High School student members of the DJ/MC performance team volunteer to co-teach and coach elementary school learners on professional Podcasting and DJing equipment in a week-long immersive classroom experience that culminates in an interactive school-wide dance.

Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez
Mr. Miranda-Rodriguez is a graphic novelist most notably recognized as the writer and creator of the critically acclaimed and bestselling superhero series La Borinqueña. Mr. Miranda was interviewed on episode 7 after he accepted our student invitation to join us on Social with a Side of Justice!
Reggie Dabbs
Mr. Dabbs is a world-renowned motivational speaker who combines music, comedy, & stories from his childhood to tell the most important message of all… “you matter”. Mr. Dabbs recently visited LBHS & LBMS and was also a guest on Social with a Side of Justice earlier this winter.
Marceline DuBose
Is the founder and lead equity specialist at Due East Educational Equity Collaborative. She is also a lead equity specialist for Equity Literacy Institute founded by Pail Gorski. Marceline has 20 years of experience in public education as a high school social studies educator, state and federal level policy administrator, professional development leader, strategic planning consultant, and curriculum writer. Her primary focus is equity leadership development and strategic planning, working with districts to improve systems for creating equitable schools and classrooms.
Nicole Pulliam,Ph.D.
Nicole Pulliam, Ph.D., is Director of the Social Justice Academy at Monmouth University. She teaches courses on social justice and diversity, student affairs/college counseling, and human growth and development. Pulliam’s practitioner experience spans over 15 years in a variety of roles. She is a proud Latina counselor educator with a strong commitment to social justice.
Vernon S. Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Vernon Smith is Assistant Director of the Social Justice Academy at Monmouth University. He teaches courses centered around social justice advocacy in educational counseling. Dr. Smith’s research centers around empowering young Black males. Dr. Smith currently serves on the Monmouth UniversitySchool of Education Social Justice, and International Committees.
