Grade 10-12 Leadership Academy School Counselor
Greetings from Long Branch High School! My name is Mrs. Bethany Steele and I am the Leadership School Counselor. I am extremely excited to return in-person learning this year and feel very fortunate to be a part of a district as diverse and tight-knit as Long Branch!!
Let me take this time to tell you more about myself. Currently, I hold a B.S. in Psychology, a M.S.Ed in School Counseling and two Post-Master's Endorsements in Student Assistance Counseling and Director of School Counseling Services. Additionally I am a recognized National Board Certified Counselor and hold my NJ Associate Counseling license and am working under supervised hours towards private practice. Since joining LBHS family, I have worked as the Special Needs Advisor for the PERKINS IV grant. My experience in this position worked to enhance our approved career and technical education programs of Engineering, TV Studio Production and Biomedical Science. As a result I am very passionate about vocational and career training. Overall my experiences here have allowed me to become well acquainted with the high school counseling curriculum, college application process, career exploration and adolescent development. Needless to say, I am passionate about working with students at this level in particular!
Outside of school I am a first time Mommy to a beautiful baby boy named Dennis. I enjoy cooking, working out, boating, and spending time with my family. I am passionate about self-care and learning in my free time.
As your School Counselor, I am motivated to help students develop personally, academically and socially. It is very important to me to work with parents and members of the community to ensure that our students achieve at their highest potential. My goal is to guide you towards a satisfying and successful school year. I wish to maintain an open dialogue with you and your parents so please do not hesitate to contact me at any time to discuss your concerns.
