September 2026

See You at the Pole: 

On September 23, Christian students gather at their school flagpoles to intercede for their peers, teachers, and nation.

• Pray for Courage and Unashamed Witness: Pray that students would stand boldly for the Gospel on secular campuses, unashamed of biblical truth.

"For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7)

• • Pray for Protection Over Student Leaders: Ask the Lord to guard young leaders from spiritual warfare, peer pressure, and compromise as they take a public stand for Christ.

"I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame." (Psalm 119:46)

Suicide Prevention: 

During Suicide Prevention Month, lift up those fighting mental darkness, asking God to break spirit-crushing isolation with the light of the Gospel.

• • For the Preservation of Life: Intercede against the spirit of despair, self-harm, and hopelessness in your city. Pray that individuals contemplating suicide encounter the life-saving grace of Jesus.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

• • For the Church to Be a Sanctuary: Pray that believers would be equipped to recognize mental distress, listen with compassion, and offer both practical support and biblical hope.

"Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God." (Psalm 42:11)

Labor Day: 

We give thanks for the ability to labor and pray for those seeking employment.

• • For Integrity in the Workplace: Pray that Christian workers would perform their duties with excellence, honesty, and diligence, honoring God in every industry.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men..." (Colossians 3:23)

• • For Provision for the Unemployed: Lift up those seeking work or struggling under economic pressure, asking God to open doors of honest employment.

Patriot Day (25th Anniversary of 9/11): 

Marking 25 years since September 11, 2001, we remember lives lost and pray for those who protect our communities.

• • For Comfort for Grieving Families: Pray for families still bearing the pain of lost loved ones, asking the "Father of mercies" to bring enduring peace.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort..." (2 Corinthians 1:3)

• • For First Responders and Military Personnel: Intercede for police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and military members who sacrifice daily to protect others.

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)

October 2026

Pastor Appreciation Month: 

October is a month set aside to thank God for those he has placed as shepherds over his people, with Pastor Appreciation Day falling on October 11.

• • Pray for Your Pastor's Strength and Joy: Ask the Lord to guard your pastor from discouragement and weariness, and to renew in him the joy of shepherding God's people. 

"Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you." (Hebrews 13:17)

• • Pray for Your Pastor's Family: Lift up the spouses and children of pastors across our community, asking God to be their strength in the particular pressures that come with a life spent in ministry. 

"But my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

Reformation Day: 

On October 31, we remember the recovery of the gospel truth that sinners are made right with God by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

• • Pray for Gospel Clarity: Ask the Lord to keep his church anchored to these essentials in every generation, so that grace is never traded for performance and faith is never confused with mere religious activity. 

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." (Ephesians 2:8–9)

• • Pray for Light in a Season of Darkness: As churches host trunk-or-treats and fall festivals this same week, pray that our neighbors would see something better than a culture eager to make light of darkness — that they would encounter real hope, real welcome, and a gospel worth staying for. 

"In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:4–5)

Domestic Violence Awareness Month: 

October is set aside to bring attention to abuse happening behind closed doors in homes across our community, including within the church.

• • Pray for the Protection of the Vulnerable: Ask the Lord to shield those currently in danger, to give them courage to seek help, and to bring their situation into the light. 

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

• • Pray for the Church to Respond Rightly: Pray that churches would be equipped to recognize abuse, believe those who disclose it, and pursue both the safety and the healing of the wounded rather than premature calls for reconciliation. 

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)

Praying Toward Election Day (November 3): 

As our nation approaches another election, we pray for the health of our shared life together.

• • Pray for Integrity in the Process: Ask the Lord to grant honesty and order to the election process, and wisdom and humility to those who will be entrusted with public office. 

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way." (1 Timothy 2:1–2)

• • Pray for a Spirit of Cooperation: Ask God to give our community a posture of neighborliness across our differences — for the glory of the Lord and the good of our people, rather than division for its own sake. 

"But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare." (Jeremiah 29:7)

Do we choose a calendar day (e.g. the 5th of every month) or a recurring day (e.g. the second Tuesday of every month)?

We want there to be as few barriers to a church's participation in this endeavor as possible. Therefore, you are free to pick a day that works best for the culture of your church. There are strengths and weaknesses to either method of choosing a day.

What if the day that works best for our church/ministry is already taken?

Share the day! Though our goal is to see every day covered in prayer, we trust the Lord to raise up the right partners at the right time to achieve this goal. He owns all the days and none belong to a specific church. We pray that churches who share a day of prayer together will grow in fellowship with one another as they pray for each other on that day.

Is there a specific format that our church needs to follow?

No. We desire to be facilitators of prayer and not administrators. Therefore, apart from encouraging everyone to unite their hearts around the 6 broad prayer goals and any specific community needs each month, we want each church to organize its times of prayer as best fits its culture and patterns of prayer. That said, we are happy to help you establish your patterns of prayer in any way that we are able.
