Hello LJ Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful break filled with time with family and friends. It was so nice to see our students return refreshed and ready for the new semester.
Before break, our middle school students participated in Minute to Win It games, and it was an absolute blast. The energy, teamwork, and school spirit were amazing to watch. A big congratulations to Mr. Davidson’s class, who earned the most points for the middle school and won the assembly!
As we jump back into learning, I want to share a few important topics and highlights from our middle school community that I will be discussing below:
Attendance Initiative
Nurses Memo: Sickness
School Counselors:State-Mandated Sexual Abuse Prevention Training
Student of the Month
Core Teachers’ Newsletter
Clubs & Schedule changes
We also want to remind families that sickness is still going around. If your student has a fever or is feeling unwell, please keep them home to help keep everyone healthy. We truly appreciate your partnership in supporting the wellbeing of our students and staff.
Warmly,
Lindsey Crews
Topics:
Attendance Initiative: Students who maintain 95% attendance during 2nd quarter will earn the opportunity to watch a movie in January during RTI Clubs and 4th hour. I will email those families soon with dates and details.
Nurses Memo: Sickness
Even though it doesn't feel like winter outside we are seeing illness numbers increase and have definitely begun the flu and cold season. Our students within our buildings are experiencing more illness symptoms. Please remind your student to wash their hands frequently, cover their cough (if they have one), and avoid sharing food or beverages with friends. If your student is home ill please report their symptoms when calling them in. This helps us understand what is being passed around in our buildings as well as contributing to the Eastern Jackson County illness dashboard that looks at all the schools within eastern Jackson County as well as clinics and hospitals, see link here. As always please refer to our student handbook for any illness policy questions about when to keep students home. If you ever have further questions feel free to contact Lindi Rogers (lrogers@lonejackc6.net) and/or Melissa Carpenter (mcarpenter@lonejackc6.net).
Thanks,
Your School Nurses

Clubs and Schedule changes
With the start of a new semester, students may notice changes to their schedules, including new electives. Along with these schedule updates, students signed up for new clubs, including Broadcasting and Improv, along with several returning favorites. Clubs began today, and we are excited to offer students opportunities to explore interests, build confidence, and connect with peers. Please take a moment to ask your student about their elective schedule and club participation.
