I want to share a few important updates and highlights from our middle school community. Below, you will find information regarding:

Topics: 

• Parent Teacher Conferences:  October 29th 12-8PM. Our 6th grade teachers have sent out their sign ups, and I have included the 7th and 8th grade core teachers' sign ups below. If a time does not work for your schedule or all available spots are full, please reach out to the teacher directly. We are happy to accommodate families by scheduling a conference on a different day if needed! If a time slot is already taken, you are also welcome to stop by and wait outside the teacher's classroom for an opportunity to pop in and visit. If you would like to meet with an elective teacher, no sign up is needed! You are welcome to stop by their classroom at any time during conferences. All Middle School Core and Elective Teachers will hold conferences in their classrooms. Please note that teachers will have a dinner break from 5:00–5:40 PM, so we kindly ask families to be mindful of that time. We look forward to seeing everyone!

• Please note that teachers will have a dinner break from 5:00–5:40 PM. We kindly ask that families be mindful of this time so our teachers have an opportunity to enjoy their dinner. We look forward to seeing our families and discussing all the great things happening with our students! Also, if you ordered trash bags from PTA, you can pick them up at the Elementary on the 29th. 

• Costumes: Students are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes on Wednesday, October 28th! We will have prizes for Best Costume and Funniest Costume! As a reminder, costumes should be school appropriate. No blood, gore, or face masks are allowed. We can't wait to see everyone's creativity!

• Upcoming Breaks: October 29th-November 2nd: Fall Break. Then November 23rd- 27th: Thanksgiving break.

• Staff Shout out: Help us celebrate our amazing staff! Please share a message of gratitude for a teacher or staff member who has positively impacted you, your child or family. You can remain anonymous if you wish — your message will be shared with them through a certificate of appreciation.  Link here. We will do this until the end of November. So please fill out as many times as you please!

• Newsletter: At the top of this newsletter, you’ll find buttons linking to the 6th Grade Teacher Newsletter and, our Middle School Newsletter created by our Multimedia class. I’ll also include the links here for easy access. These links will stay the same throughout the school year. For 6th grade, you’ll find weekly assignments on their newsletter calendar. For 7th and 8th grade, our Multimedia students will share general updates in their newsletter. You can also check Infinite Campus for upcoming assignments and any missing or late work. • Wednesday School:  It will be held in the library from 3:30–5:30 PM. This is a great opportunity for students to have a quiet place to get work done, with teachers available to help and provide guidance. Please talk with your child about staying for extra study or work time if they need it!

• After School Clubs:  

-Art Club: First Meeting is September 9th directly after school until 5PM. It is 20 dollars to join for the year. They will meet every month. So come out if you enjoy making art. Please contact Mrs. Bordner (Sbordner@Lonejackc6.net) for any questions.

-Drama (Theatre) Club:  Drama Club will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at a new time of 5:30 PM in the PAC. Please contact Mrs. Eppert (nkeppert@gmail.com)
