The Barry Society (BSoc)

Description: We are the transgender and nonbinary members of the Dickens Christmas Fair cast, gathering to celebrate history (not just cis-tory) and advocate for trans issues in the reenactor/living history community." Trans, nonbinary, and members of the Dickens Christmas Fair Cast who are questioning their gender identity are all welcome.

Disabled at Dickens (DaD)

Description: Disabled at Dickens (DaD) is an affinity and advocacy group for disabled participants of The Great Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco, California. Events like the Dickens Fair pose significant challenges and barriers to participation for the disabled population.

Our goal is to support our members, advocate for accessibility and visibility, and improve participation. DaD uses the Social Model of Disability, which you can learn more about in Stella Young's TED Talk here.

We welcome all Dickens Fair Participants who identify as disabled.

Gentleman Jack's (GJ)

Description: An affinity group for members of the Dickens Fair community that fall along the LGBTQ+ spectrum. If you identify as queer, this is the place for you!

The main purpose of this group is to advocate for the needs of the LGBTQ+ community at Dickens Fair, be that advocating for visibility or defending against bigotry.

We are open to all cast, crew, booth staff, ops, and security who identify as Queer and/or LGBTQIA+

Order of the Golden Needle (OGN)

Description: The Order of the Golden Needle is a support network and advocacy group for neurodivergent participants in the Great Charles Dickens Christmas Fair. Our focus is on building community, sharing skills and support structures, and advocating for increased accessibility at Dickens Fair. Anyone who identifies as neurodivergent (referring to a broad umbrella of developmental, intellectual, psychiatric, and learning disabilities) is welcome to become a member.

South West Asians & North Africans at Dickens (SWANAaD) - [On Hiatus]*

Description: South West Asians & North Africans at Dickens (SWANAaD) is a private Group which includes peoples of South West Asia and North Africa who participate in creating the Dickens Fair.

Our goal is to work towards greater recognition of South West Asians, North Africans, and other underrepresented peoples, in our London, through our work with the London Solitary Network.

All booth, cast, crew, ops, and security are welcome!

Survivor Advocacy and Support Society (SASS)

Description: The Survivor Advocacy and Support Society (SASS) is an advocacy group for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence at the Great Dickens Christmas Fair. We welcome survivors of all gender identities and sexual orientations as members, whether they are public or wish to remain private about their membership.

Each group has one to three representatives, and has one vote per group.

Three existing affinity groups (Delegation of Indigenous Americans, London, Jews of London, and Latines de Londres) are not in the London Solidarity Network. You can find more information about them on the "Other Affinity Groups" page.

* Groups are marked as "On Hiatus" if their representative(s) need to step back for a bit for whatever reason (usually due to other life priorities), or "Inactive" if the LSN has not been able to contact the group's representative(s) for over three months.
