LISD has adopted the statewide performance standards for both Educator Evaluation and SGMs. These Performance Measures are used to calculate the cut points for each of the designation levels (*Acknowledged, Recognized, Exemplary and Masters). The calculations are outlined in the LISD TIA Handbook. The overall scoring uses a 100 point scale, with up to 50 points from teacher observation and up to 50 points from student growth. To qualify for a designation, teachers must meet the cut points for both areas at the specific designation level and also reach the required total score.
*Please note that the new Acknowledged designation will apply to 2025–2026 school year data.
Educator Observation 50%
Teacher Observation is weighted at 50% and has a max of 50 points for calculating the designation. For teacher observation, the performance standard in LISD for Acknowledged is 3.5 out of 5 possible points. 3.5/5 gives us the ratio of 0.70. 50 * .74 gives us the cut-point for Acknowledged as 35.
Student Growth 50%
Student Growth is weighted at 50% and has a max of 50 points for calculating the designation. The performance standard for acknowledged is 50% out of 100%. 50/100 gives us the ratio of .50. 50 multiplied by .55 gives us the cut-point for recognized as 25.
Using the cut points for each component listed above, the two scores are combined to produce the overall point total shown in the table below. To be considered for a designation, teachers must meet the cut point for both TTES and SGM at each designation level and reach the required total.
*Please note that eligibility requires meeting the TTES and SGM cut points for the level and earning the corresponding total score.
**In addition, please note that the new Acknowledged designation will apply to 2025–2026 school year data.
