Educational Opportunities
The University of Findlay, College of Pharmacy is hosting our annual Pharmacy Summer Camp in June. Pharmacy camp is an overnight camp open to any high school student who will be either a junior or senior in high school in the fall of 2024. Our four-day three-night experience on Findlay’s campus gives students an opportunity to learn about the profession of pharmacy and explore the various career opportunities available for pharmacists. Students who attend camp also get the opportunity to stay in a dorm and engage in hands-on activities with our esteemed pharmacy students and faculty.

Calling all medical explorers to step into the world of health sciences led by Clark State’s Medical Lab Technology, and Nursing teams. This camp offers a blend of discovery and hands-on learning in different areas of health science from behind the scenes of conducting laboratory tests and patient diagnosis, to understanding how to work with and care for patients. Students will unravel medical mysteries & uncover the intricacies of medical science and healthcare practices and how they work together in this camp.
Please note: This camp is designed for students who have an interest in exploring the health sciences field. Students should expect to interact in a lab and classroom setting with simulated labs including (but not limited to): blood samples, urine samples, patient labs, patient interactions & health history, dissections, and biological specimens.
Rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students are invited to join us for this program.

Theme 1: Philosophy and Artificial Intelligence
Can a computer system be “intelligent” or “conscious”?
How and why can “artificial intelligence” improve on human decision-making?
How and why can the use of algorithms or machine learning improve the fairness of decision-making? How and why can it enshrine bias or other forms of injustice?
Who is responsible when a self-driving car or a social media algorithm produces bad outcomes?
Does the potential for super-intelligent autonomous AI systems pose an existential threat to humanity?

Theme 2: Science, Faith and Reality
What is the nature of science?
Are there important questions science can't answer?
Is science aimed at truth or just at helping us to make useful predictions?
Does God exist? Is belief in God a matter of reason or of faith?
Can faith ever be rational?
What is skepticism? Can it ever be rational?
Do we have evidence that we live in a simulation or a multiverse? How do these ideas relate to questions about God?
SEE-UD camps offered by our School of Engineering provide students with an opportunity to explore the diverse fields of engineering and learn more about engineering at UD through interactive modules and hands-on lab experiences. At our three daylong camps on June 24, 25 and 26, participants will learn about a specific discipline of engineering while striving to solve some of the most prominent problems our world faces today, called the Grand Challenges of Engineering.
Please note that our experiences have changed from a multiday residential camp to a one-day camp for the summer of 2024. Overnight accommodations are not available.
Dates: Each day features one or two engineering disciplines. Participants may attend multiple days if interested. On days with two disciplines, the sessions will run at the same time, and students will choose which session to attend.

June 25: Engineering Technology
June 26: Choose from Electrical and Computer Engineering or Civil Engineering
Time: 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Lunch is included.)
Cost: $35 per day
SEE-UD experiences are open to students with a 3.0 high school GPA or higher. This is first come first served, so will close when full.
The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has been hosting a camp since 2001! Did you know that UToledo Pharmacy offers 5 undergraduate science majors in addition to the pharmacy program? Graduates can become community pharmacists, cosmetic scientists, forensic scientists, research chemists, clinical pharmacists, drug developers, and more! If you're interested in learning about the variety of career paths we offer, join us for the 2024 Pharmacy & Science Career Camp. This camp will run twice, so you may select one of two date options: Monday, June 10, 2024-Wednesday, June 12, 2024 or Monday, July 8, 2024-Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Campers will stay in our residence halls overnight for the full UToledo student experience!
This camp is for high school students going into their sophomore, junior or senior year in fall 2024.
This camp will incorporate immersive activities and panel conversations that spotlight our College's academic and career offerings. Campers will also receive a camp bag including swag items and a camp t-shirt!

Premier Health is hosting a one-week paid externship for high school students (sophomore – graduating seniors) to gain hands-on experience, including surgery instrument demonstrations, lab work, and educational talks from orthopedic surgeons, spine surgeons, and sports medicine physicians. The externship will expose students to multiple healthcare careers. Healthcare experience or coursework is not required to participate.
Students will receive a $400 stipend check from SOCHE (Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education) upon successfully completing the program! The stipend will help offset travel expenses and time away from summer jobs.

Althetic Training Workshop
Nationwide Children's Hospital
The Athletic Training Workshop is designed for high school students interested in athletic training, physical training or allied health professions. No experience is necessary. The Certified Athletic Trainer is an allied health care professional that is certified by the Board of Certification (BOC). Athletic Trainers serve as a liaison to the athlete, coach, physician, and other members of the healthcare team.
Location: Nationwide Children's Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center and Otterbein University. Participants will also have the option of becoming certified in CPR.
Date and Time: June 5-6, 8:30am-1:00pm

Students will step into the shoes of a legal expert and unravel the mysteries of America's criminal justice system in our Law and Order program. Dive deep into case studies, courtroom simulations, and discussions led by seasoned legal professionals. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the principles of justice, ethics, and civil liberties.

Film and Television Production
Lights, camera, action! Student will ignite their creativity and unleash their passion for storytelling in our Film and Television Production program. Learn from industry experts as they explore the art of scriptwriting, cinematography, editing, and more. Student will bring their vision to life and create their own cinematic masterpiece to showcase to their peers and family.
Produce and cast a script.
Light and shoot a scene.
Work on a film set and create a finished production.
Students will take the first step towards a rewarding career in medicine with our Pre-Medical Professions program. Immerse in the fascinating world of healthcare through hands-on labs, interactive workshops, and insightful lectures from experienced medical professionals. Students will discover different medical specialties, hone essential clinical skills, and gain valuable insights into the medical school admissions process.

Learn how to use the Anatomage Table and apply the basic anatomical terms and concepts to the Table while exploring the eleven human organ systems.
Receive training in CPR (Friends and Family level), usage of an automated external defibrillator, and STOP THE BLEED.
