Born and raised in Lompoc, Barbara has spent most of her life living on her family’s ranch located a few miles east of town. A third generation Lompocian, she grew up helping on the ranch that her father farmed. She was involved in 4-H and attended Lompoc schools graduating from Lompoc High School “Class of 75”.

         Much of her career has been in hospitality, event coordination, and promoting our local wine region, the Santa Rita Hills. She and her family owned The Outpost Restaurant in Lompoc, and she has many fond memories of the staff and customers she connected with over the 13 years they were in business. Out of all her volunteer work, she is most proud of being part of a Relay for Life team, Hope on Hwy 246, raising over $100,000 over the span of 6 years with the support of family, friends, and neighbors. Her current passion, for the past 10 years, has been working on the Lompoc Theatre Project to help restore our historic theatre in Old Town Lompoc.

         Barbara has fond memories of Flower Festival, with her first parade appearance on the Elks float when she was just 4 years old. She also participated as an equestrian entry in several parades over the years. “I have always loved Flower Festival weekend as a time to reconnect with old friends and classmates who come to town for the event.”

         “I am very excited for the future of Lompoc. The Theatre will be restored in the next few years which will revitalize our already blossoming downtown. We have a strong community of citizens with vision who can think outside the box and elevate the identity of Lompoc to a whole new level.” While Barbara and husband Gary still live on the family ranch, they like to travel to visit their 4 daughters and 9 grandchildren.
