About Lo-Fi cherokee
Each year, in early April, the Lo-Fi Cherokee crew sets out to shoot about a dozen music videos on Cherokee Street in a single day; the goal is to capture the energy and diversity of the local music scene. We invite the public to watch as we make our way down the street making music videos in various shops, restaurants, and bars. The live audience gives this event a festival or bar-crawl vibe while celebrating St. Louis' rich music scene in one of the city's most dynamic small business districts.
This event, born as a wild experiment in 2012, has become a favorite event among businesses and residents on Cherokee, a street that hosts some of the most popular events in the city.

Event Details
The Premise
On April 6, 2024, we will produce twelve (12) music videos of select acts of diverse genres. These videos are produced by a crew of twenty video professionals, audio technicians, and production support people.
We have made as many as nineteen (19) videos in the past decade of producing this event. But that pace has proven to be unsustainable. So from now on, we're keeping the number to twelve (12).
The Production
We shoot the music videos of our selected performers in various shops over a single day. We start the first shoot at 9:30 am and wrap up production around 7:30 pm. The performers are selected with the guidance and advice of a panel of accomplished musicians that have previously participated in Lo-Fi Cherokee. Generally, we do not consider acts that have participated in Lo-Fi Cherokee in the past.
The Premiere Party
About a month later (date and venue for 2024 TBD), the crew, fans, and participating musicians convene to celebrate and watch all the edited videos. Were we give the bands a rock'n'roll red carpet treatment, complete with paparazzi!
Online Publishing
The week after the premiere party, the videos will be published on the Lo-Fi Saint Louis YouTube channel on Tuesday and Thursday every week until they have all been published. After that, they will be available online indefinitely as a testament to an exciting time and place in St. Louis' history.
