Digital Citizenship Resources

Shout Out to Brandon Schut - bschut@stancoe.org for the inspiration behind this web site.

Our children are growing up in a world filled with technology, social media, and the internet. The world has become a very connected place that can benefit learning and create never before seen experiences. However, it should be used with caution and with the knowledge needed to keep our students safe from harm and from harming others.

Digital Citzenship

How are students learning to interact online? Are parents teaching them? Are they mimicking what they see from peers? Are they repeating what they see on television? Or are they learning on their own in the digital wasteland?

With districts increasing technology use in the classroom (and at home), we need to spend time on digital citizenship.

Once again, it is up to educators to lead the way. Showing positive interactions online; discussing negative interactions; helping students create a positive online presence that can (and definitely will) be used in their future!
