Jazz Band
Jazz Ensemble instruments are: Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone. Piano, Bass, Guitar, and Drum Set are required to read music (no tabs) and acceptance into the ensemble is by interview/audition. This ensemble will be mostly seniors and juniors with the best of the best from sophomores and freshmen.
Students enrolled in this course should have an interest in learning more about the genres of Jazz, jazz performance and improvisation.
Choir
Beginning Choir is an intro to singing course that explores vocal technique, learning how to read music, and performing in concerts throughout the school year.
Advanced choir is a competition-based ensemble that explores advanced choral concepts through vigorous music repertoire. The course provides opportunities to perform in various levels of choral harmony, and also explores a cappella music genres that are similar to the music of the Pentatonix.
Symphonic Band
Symphonic Band performs Pep Band & Concert Band music throughout the year. Students also participate in concerts and festivals throughout the year in addition to playing in class.
Students entering Symphonic Band usually have at least 2 years experience playing their band instrument.
Symphonic Band instruments are: Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Cornet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion.
Symphonic Band is a band, NOT a symphony – there are no violins, violas, cellos, or basses in Symphonic Band. Guitar, bass, and drum set ARE NOT included in Symphonic Band.
