In the VEX Robotics Competition, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April!
You get to build and program robots with state of the art equipment.
Learn how to problem solve with the latest technology.
Work with others that share your passion for technology.
Unique experience that is only starting to grow in Southern Wisconsin.
All practices will be held in the Discovery Center on Monday and Wednesday each week from 3:15-4:30.
Each year VEX creates a new robotics competition that requires both autonomous (programed) and manual robot control. Typically, the competition starts with a 15 second autonomous period and concludes with a 90 second manually controlled period. The goal is to score more points than the other team(s). Points are awarded for completing tasks. Harder tasks are rewarded more points than easier tasks. The best way to understand the competition is to watch the current VEX Competition preview video (https://youtu.be/_JVQOiw_OUU).
Any eligible Lodi High School student with a signed Code of Conduct can participate on a BlueDevils Robotics team. Each team consists of 3-5 members and you can join as an individual or as a complete team. All of our teams will compete in the same competitions and will have the same chance of moving on to a statewide competition.
