Dear Parents,
On behalf of Lodge School Association Committee, we would like to inform parents to take note of the following and provide feedback to respective Principal or Director, if you have any.
- Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) 2019 Results
The school apologizes for an oversight on the publication of UPSR 2019 which was released on 21 November 2019. 8 students obtained straight As and 18 students obtained 5As.
Students who have obtained straight As are as follows :

2. Registration for PT3 and SPM Examinations 2020
Online registration for PT3 and SPM Examinations 2020 will start on Sunday,1st March 2020. There will be 95 students sitting for PT3 and 107 students will be sitting for SPM.
3. Registration for Cambridge International Examinations June 2020 Series
Registration for Cambridge International Examinations: AS & A-Level and IGCSE (Foreign Languages - Korean, Malay and Mandarin Chinese), June 2020 Series closed on Friday, 31st January 2020. The examinations will begin from 29th April until 12th June 2020.
4. Registration for UPSR 2020
Registration for UPSR 2020 will start officially in March 2020. There will be 73 candidates sitting for the examination this year.
5. Cambridge International Examinations 2019 Results
Cambridge AS Level Examination November 2019 Results (released on Thursday, 9th January 2020)
14 (31.8%) students obtained straight As.

12 (21.1%) students obtained straight A*/As.

6. Novel Coronavirus (known as Covid-19) and Influenza Virus
The safety, health and well-being of our students and staff is our top priority. We appreciate that parents and guardians may have questions about the Novel Coronavirus and how this will be managed in our schools.
Lodge Group of Schools has shared these recommendations to help reduce the spread of germs including the flu and the Novel Coronavirus:
- Set up monitoring stations to measure staff and students’ body temperature when they arrive at school. If any student has a fever and/or flu, the student will be kept in a temporary isolation room and parents will be contacted.
- Students who have traveled from parts of China are required to stay at home and observe a self-quarantine of 14 days after landing in Kuching, Sarawak
- Stay home if sick.
- Avoid public settings, crowded places, if and when necessary - such as restaurants, cinemas or shopping centers.
- Educate students to practice good personal hygiene.
- Put up sanitizer at various locations for students to wash their hands often.
- Students are encouraged to wear a face mask as precautionary measure.
7. First Progressive Test 2020
The marks for the first progressive test will be entered into the LIS (Lodge Information Systems) at these dates:
- Monday, 9th March 2020 for National Secondary and International Schools; and
- Friday, 27th March 2020 for National Primary School.
The Form Four Science students will be sitting for the Assessment test in February. The schedule for the Assessment Test is as follows:

18 Form Four students of Lodge National Secondary have registered to join the Dual Certification Programme 2020. They have started their mastery lessons on Saturday, 8th February 2020.
They will be sitting for their Mock examinations in March 2020.

11. For all of 2020 Primary 1 parents, who need to accompany your child at the canteen during lunchtime, please be reminded that you are only allowed to do so for the first two months (January & February 2020).
12. Program Mudahnya Bahasa Melayu UPSR
The Bahasa Melayu Department of Lodge National Primary School has organised the above program mentioned for Primary 6 students on 10th February 2020.
The objectives of the program are to:
- create awareness on the importance of Bahasa Melayu;
- build the interest of students in learning Bahasa Melayu; and
- share some techniques of answering Bahasa Melayu questions in UPSR.
13. Kindergarten Tooth brushing
Lodge Kindergarten will have a tooth brushing drill on 24th February 2020. Each child is required to bring his / her own:
- toothbrush
- toothpaste
- a plastic mug
- a small towel
14. Registration for ICAS Competition 2020 at Lodge International
Registration for ICAS Competition 2020 is now open. Students who are interested in the competition can obtain the relevant forms from the Admin Office.

On behalf of the Lodge School Association Committee, I would like to wish all parents and students A Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year.
Further to our circular related to Influenza A and B on 20th January 2020, I would like to inform parents to take note of the following related to the recent outbreak of CoronaVirus or also commonly known as "Wuhan Virus" in various parts of the world. According to the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, 4 cases have been detected positive of CoronaVirus in Malaysia as of 27th January 2020.
- This circular serves as a precautionary measure for all parents in relation to CoronaVirus.
- The common symptoms include runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat, fever, a general feeling of unwell, etc.
- All parents must be vigilant. If your child/children exhibit the above symptoms, the school seeks your cooperation to send your child/children for medical attention immediately. Please do not send the sick child/children to school.
- At the school level, the school teachers are reminded to be vigilant too. The schools have already started temperature checks on all Kindergarten, Primary One and Year Two students and will continue to do so. If any students are detected with fever, parents will be duly notified. Students are also constantly being reminded to practice basic hygiene at all times and inform teachers immediately if they feel unwell or having a fever.
- The school encourages all parents to ask their children to come to school with a face mask until the situation improves. The school will provide hand sanitizer at 3 locations in each entity.
- For the benefit of Lodge family, parents must inform the School Principals or Deputy Principals should you and your child/children have been to China, especially to Wuhan or those badly affected areas or countries just before or during the recent Chinese New Year period or if your child is not feeling well.
- Your cooperation and support to ensure a safe and healthy environment in the school is much appreciated.

- Students who have been to China during the Chinese New Year period or just before the Chinese New Year, their child/children need to be quarantined for 14 days (incubation period) from the day they are back in Sarawak.
