Welcome to Career Technical Education (CTE) Advanced Media Arts course at Central Coast New Tech High School. This course is year two of a three year CTE Digital Media pathway and will provide entry level training in the Digital Media industry. Students will complete projects using programs in the Adobe Creative Suite CC including, but not limited, to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition and Adobe InDesign.
Keeping with the New Tech tradition, this class will strongly adhere to the Project Based Learning philosophy.This course will allow students the opportunity to learn entry level Digital Media skills in multiple disciplines including Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Art, Photo Editing, Digital Illustration and Video Production. Students will be able to utilize professional digital camera systems, utilizing Graphic Design and composition skills, creating illustrations in Adobe Illustrator, create videos and short films using professional video production equipment and techniques on Adobe Premiere and editing photography in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom.
Students will have the opportunity to earn industry recognized career and technical education certification through Precision Exams.
About me
This course is taught by former professional sports and commercial photographer Robert Oliver. Oliver has hundreds of magazine and newspaper cover photos to his credit. Oliver is also a working fine art photographer who works with film in a traditional darkroom environment.
