Science is definitely my passion. I have a tendency to completely "nerd out" when it comes to all things science. To me it is not just a subject you have to learn in school; science is something that is happening all around us! It happens every second of every day. It shapes that world that we live in and opens opportunities for the future. Science is EVERYWHERE!
I am a three time Cal Poly Alumni! I attended the San Luis Obispo campus to receive my Bachelors Degree in Earth Science, Teaching Credentials in Life Science, Physical Science and Geoscience, then lastly a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership along with an Administration Credential.
When I am not lesson planning or teaching I love to read, play video games, play Magic the Gathering, spend time with my husband and daughter, roller skate, walk in nature, cuddle with my adorable cat Marley, and watch shows like Bluey, Supernatural, Brooklyn 99, TSITP, Ghost Adventures, Love is Blind, Futurama, and most things on Netflix and Disney+. I am currently OBSESSED with K-pop Demon Hunters.
Music is the rhythm of my soul, and I often wish that my life played out in musical form with the most EPIC soundtrack; there would definitely be lots of ABBA, Lord Huron, P!NK, Taylor Swift, Aquabats, the Killers, Vance Joy, George Ezra, Bastille, Lana Del Rey and Benson Boone on there.
Besides being a "Nerd" for science. I would also consider myself to be a bit of a Geek. I am still to this day obsessed with all things MARVEL and superheroes in general. I go to Comic-Con when I can. Back in the day when I took the track to play roller derby I even went by the name Iron Fran and my number was 26; see if you can figure out why. I don't currently play, but I love to skate in my free time. The last 2 decades has been very kind to my fangirl heart, even within the sadness of Endgame! I love Tony Stark 3000. My daughter is also named after a video game character ... any guesses?
If you enjoy these things too we definitely need to chat! I look forward to it :)
