Student Athletes

Students who are interested in participating in athletics at the college level must meet criteria set forth by the NCAA Eligibility center. Requirements to participate at the college level are rigorous and specific, and all students must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. It is important for students to register with the NCAA eligibility center at the beginning of the sophomore year and because NCAA course requirements are slightly different from college admission requirements, it is encouraged for prospective college athletes to work closely with their counselor to ensure that they meet NCAA eligibility requirements.

Selective Service

Virtually all male U.S. citizens, regardless of where they live, and male immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, residing in the United States, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. The law says men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. That means men are required to register with Selective Service sometime during the 30 days before their 18th birthday, their 18th birthday, and the following 29 days after their 18th birthday – that is a 60-day registration period.

Voter Registration

To register online you will need your California driver license or California identification card number, The last four digits of your social security number and Your date of birth. Your information will be provided to the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to retrieve a copy of your DMV signature. If you do not have a California driver license or California identification card, you can still use this form to apply to register to vote by completing the online interview by 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the 15th calendar day before an election. To pre-register to vote in California, you must: Be 16 or 17 years old, and Meet all of the other requirements to vote. You will automatically be registered to vote on your 18th birthday.

Indigenous College Planning Guidebook

This guidebook is created by College Board and is a free resource created for Native high school students by a team of Native college students. This physical guide is the first of its kind and fuses college planning best practices with narratives from Native college students to encourage a college going culture. Approximately 15,000 American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students in the class of 2020 will receive a printed copy of the first edition of the guidebook in the mail in April 2019. Students who receive the guidebook will be invited to provide feedback to help improve the resource.
