School Counseling at Pine Road Elementary is designed to provide opportunities to empower all students with effective social and emotional skills for positive personal growth. Mrs. Dallahan, the Pine Road school counselor,  focuses on being visible, available, and approachable to students and families. At Pine Road, we encourage a school atmosphere of mutual respect among all students and recognize individual differences as unique characteristics. When students are respected and comfortable in their learning environment, individual productivity increases.

Hello Pine Road Families,

My name is Shannon K. Dallahan and I am thrilled that the 2024-2025 school year will be my 11th year as a part of the Lower Moreland Township School District community.

I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Scranton and I earned my Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Relations, and my Education Specialist's Certification in Elementary School Counseling, from Villanova University.  When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling to the Poconos (Lake Wallenpaupack) or the city (NYC or Philadelphia), reading, dancing, jigsaw puzzling, and taking photographs.

Throughout a typical day at Pine Road, you will find me doing many different things: meeting with students individually and in small groups to discuss friendships, getting along with others, making good choices, dealing with stress and change, and so much more; doing large group classroom lessons on topics such as coping strategies, conflict resolution, bullying prevention, teamwork, and accepting differences; and meeting with staff and parents to discuss how to best support students' strengths, struggles, and needs.

I encourage you to explore the menu on the left side of this website to find information about our school counseling program as well as for helpful ideas and resources to support you and your child(ren).  Please get in touch with me if you think there is any way that I can be of help to you, your child(ren), or your family.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Dallahan

Hello Pine Road Families, My name is Danielle West. This is my first year at Pine Road, and I am very excited to get to know all of you! I work for Lakeside Educational Network and was previously in the Centennial School District for three years. I received my undergraduate degree in early childhood education and special education from Eastern University and my Master's Degree in Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. I also received my Licensed Clinical Social Work certificate last year. When I am not counseling, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my goldendoodle, going to the beach, traveling and reading.

During the day at Pine Road, I will primarily be meeting with students in groups where we will focus on friendship, emotional regulation, coping skills, conflict resolution, impulse control as well as any other skills that students may need help developing. I will also be a support to all students and staff in the building to help everyone have a successful year. I am excited to partner with all of you this year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. West
