School counselors provide direct and indirect services to students and families. Throughout the school day, you will see Ms. Harris serving the Murray Avenue School community in the following ways:

⟡  Facilitating individual short-term counseling sessions 

⟡  Facilitating small counseling groups and lunch bunches 

⟡  Providing emotional support and resources during crisis situations

⟡  Teaching developmental counseling lessons and leading class meetings

⟡  Leading the Student Assistance Program (SAP) team

⟡  Leading Murray Avenue School's Belonging Committee

⟡  Serving as a member of the Safe Schools Committee, MTSS and Youth Heart Watch/Crisis Teams

⟡  Communicating and collaborating with parents, teachers, and administrators

⟡  Coordinating and monitoring the 504 Service Agreement process

⟡  Serving as a liaison for the gifted support identification process

⟡  Coordinating the placement, scheduling, and transition process of new and returning students

⟡  Overseeing the completion of Chapter 339 career artifact requirements for students

⟡  Organizing community outreach projects: Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Season Support, Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service events, and our Multicultural Event called “Light Up the Night”

⟡  Organizing School Counseling Awareness Events: Red Ribbon Week, No Place for Hate activities, Bullying Prevention initiatives, and National School Counseling Week
