All About Me

Meet Ms. Ahern

Welcome to kindergarten in room 47! I am so excited to get to know you and your student!

My name is Miss Ahern. I graduated from Penn State in 2015 with a degree in early childhood education and a minor in special education. I earned my Masters in reading education from West Chester University. This has allowed me to obtain my reading specialist certification for grades k through 12th.

I have been a part of the Pine Road family since 2015. During this time I have worked in both the reading and ESOL department. I also was a long term substitute in first grade. This will be my fifth year in kindergarten.

When I am not taking classes or teaching I love spending time with friends and family. I am the youngest of three girls. I have a 4 year old nephew named Derek, a 2 year old niece named Genevieve, and a 6 month old nephew named Mason. Aside from teaching and reading, one of my biggest passions is sports. I am a huge New York Giants, Islanders, and Yankees fan (don’t hold it against me).

In this classroom your child is cared about. I value their ideas, thoughts, and actions. Your child has unique talents and strengths and I can’t wait for them to share them with me and their classmates. I hope to foster a love of learning and reading as they enter their academic career. I am extremely excited to get to know each child individually and work with them to achieve their highest potential.
