Meet Mrs. Okumus!

Hello Friend,

I am so excited to be your 2nd Grade Teacher! Since we will be spending this year together, let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Mrs. Emily Okumus and I grew up very close to Pine Road school in Abington, PA. After graduating from Abington High School, I went to Temple University and received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Special Education. This is my fourth year at Pine Road and I am thrilled to be leading you in your 2nd grade journey.

In my spare time, I love to exercise whether it is running, riding bikes or taking walks with friends or family! I spend a lot of time with my family. I have 2 older brothers, 2 older sisters and 1 baby nephew named Jackson. I also have 2 adorable cats at home named Zeke and Zeus who you will hear me talk about often.
