Dear 3rd graders and families,

My name is Ms. McGinnis, and I am so excited to meet all of you! Some of the students may recognize me from last year. I was a teacher in first grade for a few months, a teacher in 5th grade for a few months, and everywhere else in between. I may have substituted your class before!

A little bit about me, I went to Temple University for my undergrad and I am certified to teach Pre-K-4th grade. I did my student teaching for a full school year in 3rd grade and absolutely loved it! 3rd grade is the best grade!

In 3rd grade the students will read more chapter books, write more details, and learn multiplication! There is so much that will be accomplished in 3rd grade.

I know some students may have some big feelings about a new grade, and learning some tricky things! I want them not to worry about a thing. You are going to love third grade, it will be so much fun, and I will teach you everything you need to know!

We are going to spend time getting to know each other the first couple of weeks with various different activities. Our classroom will be a community, where we work together, and encourage each other.

I can hardly wait to meet all of you! I am looking forward to the first day!
