LMMS Ambassadors

We are looking for students to help us welcome new students and families to Lower Moreland Middle School.  In the fall, this involves being a tour guide.

During the year, it involves helping new students as they arrive  to find their way around the school, help with lockers, and helping them feel comfortable as they make new friends.  Do you speak another language?  This is not a requirement but very helpful as we welcome international students!

Click HERE for the application.  Student complete the Google Form which will provide a join code for the Google Classroom where where announcements are posted.

We are also looking for special interest writers!  Are you interested in social media, music, or fashion trends?  Your audience is to help the LMMS staff  and LMMS families stay connected to trends that they should know about!  Pieces will be published in LMMS newsletters once a month.

LMMS Student Council

Student Council reps are assigned to each WIN class to make announcements and share information about school events.  Student Council also plans school spirit days, charity drives, and school dances.  In the fall, WIN teachers collect names of students who are interested in serving as Student Council representatives for a WIN class.  Mrs. Amanda Handfinger and Mrs. Kristy Hutchison are the Student Council sponsors.

LMMS Student DEI Council

The Student Diversity Equity and Inclusion Council's focus is to support a sense of belonging in LMMS for all students.  Students sign up to be on the council and plan educational cultural events as well as provide input about school climate issues and areas of focus.  Leadership training opportunities through community partners are also provided to this group.  Signs up are in the fall.  Sponsors for this group are Ms. Dilks, Ms. Federinko, Ms. Meyers, Mrs. Handfinger, and Ms. Grosso.

Advisory Program

Advisory Program

LMMS has an Advisory program held once a month.  Students participate in social emotional learning sessions focused on grade specific topics.  Topics include transition to middle school and high school, stress management, and navigating peer relationships, to name a few.

During Advisory days, students participate in a club of interest during the school day.  Clubs are mixed grade levels and give students the opportunity to meet students who share similar interests.  Students will experience three clubs each school year.
