Hi! If you are visiting this website, you probably already know me! I am your child's Specialized Academic Instructor (SAI teacher), otherwise known as a Special Education teacher.
About me: I was born and raised in California. I grew up in the Santa Ynez Valley riding horses, playing sports, and reading books. I am a middle child and moved to
Education: I have been working with kids since I was little. I got my dual BA in Elementary Education and Special Education with an endorsement in Reading instruction from Whitworth University in Spokane, Wa. In 2013, I went to California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo for my Masters Degree in Special Education. I have been working as a Special Education teacher in the La Mesa Spring Valley School District since 2013.
When I am not working, I am playing with my dogs, traveling, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and spending time with my family.

Work Experience: Employed 19 years as a Spec. Ed. Paraprofessional with LMSVS District.
Past: I began my employment as a Playground Attendant, Preschool Speech and Language Instructional Aide 9 yrs, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Infant and Toddlers Program 9 yrs.
Current: Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) 1 year working with your son/daughter is a pleasure and I hope that I can make a difference in their educational growth.
What I like to do for fun? I enjoy gardening, jigsaw puzzles, travel with my family and when it is a beautiful day, I like to take a walk around my neighborhood. I am a Saints football fan.
Hello! I’m Ms. K, one of two paraprofessionals working in room 6! I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in June 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Additionally, I have a wide range of experience working with elementary school children, including Applied Behavior Analysis, individual or group tutoring, administering standardized assessments, and collaborating with children, teachers, and district personnel to ensure educational equity for all students.
In my free time I enjoy travelling, reading, listening to podcasts, watching movies, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends!
I am currently working towards my Education Specialist degree in School Psychology to continue to support students from all social, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Hello, I am Mrs. Dana. I am a Paraprofessional for the Visually Impaired. I am a Library of Congress certified Literary Braille Transcriber with an updated certificate in Unified English Braille (UEB). I have 20 years of experience working in the field of the visual impaired. My experience includes working directly with students (K-12) and adults in the workforce, transcribing materials into braille, and using adaptive equipment (JAWS, APEX, BrailleNote, CCTVs). I also have a specialized skill in computer generated tactile graphics.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, reading, crocheting, and traveling.
