TBR means "To Be Read." It's a wishlist of books you plan to read which can help make sure you are picking books you will enjoy and also avoid the trap of not knowing what to read next. Having either a stack of books waiting for you (remember to stock up at the public library!) or a list of books you want to read helps you create reading goals in a fun way and it's a great way to get excited and stay excited about reading.
For 3rd - 6th graders:
Step 1: Identify what genre (what kinds of books) you like:
Step 2: Find Books! (It's ok if some of the books on your TBR are below your reading level, but make sure you have some titles that are at or above your reading level to keep challenging yourself!)

Don't forget! You can borrow books from your TBR at your local public library branch by requesting the books be placed on hold through the library's website. You can pick them up in person OR you can borrow digital copies of books online through Overdrive (https://sdcl.overdrive.com) and read them on a device.
